We organized a 4-day tour to Beijing with the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers during this Easter Holiday from 25 March to 28 March. The aims of this tour are to provide the 40 F.3 students with the first-hand knowledge about the features and development of our motherland through visiting old and modern constructions, historical monuments and modern enterprises.

We divided students into 4 groups with different themes to be explored such as politics, environment, economic development and cultural conservation. In order to encourage them to see more, learn more and ask more, we arranged a variety of sceneries for them to experience such as the Great Wall, Gugong, the Capital Museum, Hutong and Siheyuan. Moreover, students had a good time in "Wang Fu Jing Main Street" and "Dazhalan". They also had a chance to visit the biggest juice company in China, the "Huiyuan Juice Group Limited", to learn more about the economic development of Chinese enterprises. Furthermore, we have left foot prints on the areas of Beijing Olympic such as the "Water Cube" and the "Bird Nest" so as to witness the great potential of our motherland in organizing big international events. On the last day of the trip, we woke up early to join the Flag Raising Ceremony in Tiananmen Square and look the opportunity to reflect on our national identity.

Honestly, at the beginning, we were a bit worried about our students about whether they could be disciplined and stay attentive enough throughout the whole period of the tour in order to fulfill our requirement of the tasks. Encouragingly, the students' performance showed that we over-worried. They showed good observation and critical thinking abilities. For example, while they were admiring the rapid development of Beijing they were at the same time criticizing the large scale demolition of Hutong and Siheyuan saying that such action would lead to the disappearance of the historical tradition of the city.

There is another example about environmental conservation. Students could point out that the complicated classification of rubbish would discourage people to separate waste and would have opposite effects. Furthermore, in the aspect of their behaviour in visiting different sceneries, we were very satisfied with their performance.

Last but not least, another valuable experience at the end of the tour happened on the returning trip. There were heavy storms and thunderstorms when we were going to land in Hong Kong. After trying to land for several times, our plane failed to do so and turned to Guangzhou. We stopped there for about 2 hours and then returned to Hong Kong. It took a total of about 9 hours for the returning trip from Beijing to Hong Kong. It was really a good test for our students. Under such harsh conditions which there was not enough food and they were also extremely tired, they had no emotional and discipline problems and could inform their parents calmly. Fortunately, we landed at about 2:30am. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to praise our students and to thank our teachers who have made great efforts in this tour.

I had a great time in Beijing with other F.3 students. Although the weather was really cold , the ardor atmosphere there made me feel warm. Through this trip, I met many friends and we learnt to how take care of each other.

I have learnt a lot through this trip. In the past, I can only get the knowledge about Beijing through TV programmes and books, but now I can experience the long history of my motherland by directly visiting different sceneries such as the Great Wall and Gugong. Moreover, I learnt more about Beijing traditions by visiting Hutong and Siheyuan. Also, the Water Cube and Bird's Nest reflected the fast development of modern Beijing.

The most unforgettable experience was to taste the famous snack in Wang Fu Jing Main Street － the fried scorpions. It was so delicious though it looked terrible.

Finally, I would like to thank our tour guide, teachers and the driver. They really took good care of us which enabled us to have a good time.

During the Easter holiday, I went to a trip to Beijing with my schoolmates and teachers for 4 days. That was a remarkable experience and I had a really great time there.

We made visits to many modern and ancient architecture, like Gugong, Water Cube, Bird's Nest, factory of Huiyuan Juice, szu-ho-yuan, and those intricate hutongs etc. Every one of them are unique and precious. They were full of cultural and historical value which made me want to dig deeper to learn more about it.

Personally, I enjoyed visiting szu-ho-yuan and hutong the most. I've always wanted to live in a szu-ho-yuan for my life. It's warm in winter and cool in summer, although it's a traditional house, it has high-technology and wisdom which impressed me so much. Also, people there have a carefree lifestyle and which also impressed me. The best part of it was when we ride on a rickshaw around the river. The driver introduced the places along the ride to us. He's was really nice.

Besides, visiting the factory of Huiyuan juice was also fascinating. I learnt many process and materials needed to make a bottle of juice. The machines and technology used were admirable since they were so complicated and efficient.

All in all, I have more knowledge of the history and the appearance of China nowadays after this trip. On top of that, this trip has enhanced my sense to current affairs and independent thinking skills.

本校於四月二十五至四月二十八日，與教聯籌辦了為期4日3夜的北京文化考察之旅。是次交流活動旨在讓中三同學認識北京的最新發展及面貌，從而了解北京的文化發展及在高速現代化下的沖擊。最終有三十五名女同學及五名男同學，連同四位老師，師生共四十四人出發前往北京考察。

為令同學更能掌握是次考察的重點，出發前已將同學分成4組，分發不同的主題，分別為政治、環境、經濟發展及文化保育，務求令同學能利用是次實地考察的機會去多看、多想、多問。為此，我們上了長城居庸關、遊覽故宮、乘坐人力車暢遊胡同與四合院及參觀首都博物館感受北京濃厚的古都氣息。漫步王府井大街，大柵欄，參觀全國最大的果汁廠滙源果汁以了解北京經濟興旺的一面。當然亦近距離看到了零八奧運後被永久保留下來的兩個體育館，鳥巢及水立方，以証北京在濃厚的文化氛圍外，也具備舉辦國際盛事的能力。在旅程最後一天的早上，我們一行師生在天安門廣場參觀了升國𣄃儀式，以藉此反思國民身份的認同。

出發前老師們還有憂慮，擔心同學只顧著遊玩，而未能專注考察的工作。但經過了是次的旅程，方知道老師們都過慮了，同學的觀察力比我們所想的要好很多，而且具有相當不錯的批判能力。如同學讚歎北京市的高速發展時，亦能指出北京在文化保育方面進行得未如理想---大量胡同的清拆，令北京的傳統民俗文化消失。又如在談及北京的環境保護上，同學能指出垃圾箱的資源回收分類過於複雜，反會降低市民主動將垃圾分類的意欲。這些例子都能說明同學有認真思考，而且對參觀的景點都表現出很大的興趣，提問聲不絕於耳，參觀時緊守秩序，一切的表現都令人滿意。

最後有一點不能不提的是，在回程的那一晚，不巧香港上空雷電交加，我們乘坐的航班在多次嘗試降落失敗後一度需降落廣州的白雲機場。當時已是晚上十一時多，比預定的抵達時間超出2小時。而且機上未有足夠的食水及食物供應，同學在機上已待了6小時，大家都又累又餓又渴。但同學並未有慌亂叫囂，亦沒有半句怨言，只是平靜地等待最新的消息，同學的沉著及冷靜實在令人讚賞。最終飛機經過了9小時的飛行，成功於凌晨二時半抵達香港國際機場，為是次的行程劃上完美的句號。

我在這四天的北京之旅與其他同學有著愉快的時光！

縱使天氣寒冷，各人的熱情投入實在令我十分雀躍，我也從中認識了更多的同學並能互相照顧。

這次北京之旅我們獲益良多。從前，只能靠書籍、電視旅遊節目認識北京的大城小事及各古蹟，但這次的交流團給予我一個機會親自到各名勝古蹟，如長城、故宮，了解我國悠長歷史；參觀胡同，令我能對民間傳統習俗有更多認知；參觀水立方及鳥巢，讓我們能親身見證我國的迅速發展。

最令我難忘的，是在王府井吃炸蠍子。雖然蠍子的外型嚇人，但為感受北京獨有的食品，最終也鼓起勇氣嘗試。每當想起吃炸蠍子的那一剎，心裏總是不禁興奮起來。

另外，亦要感謝旅程中陪伴我們左右的導遊、老師、甚至司機，不論在什麼時候，他們對我們照顧有加，好讓同學們可完全投入其中，享受在北京的美好時光。

我在復活節期間參加了北京交流團，那四天與老師同學一起度過愉快的旅程。

我們參觀了古今建築，例如：故宮、四合院、胡同、水立方和匯源果汁廠等。每一景點都有其獨特之處，並且充滿文化及歷史價值，令人產生一種深入了解的渴求。

我個人特別喜歡四合院及胡同，尤其渴望能在四合院度過餘生，那裡冬暖夏涼；雖然建築較為傳統古舊，但也反映出古人的智慧！另外，那裡無憂無慮的生活模式最吸引我，所有的景象在人力車胡同遊期間盡收眼底。

此外，我亦十分欣賞參觀匯源果汁廠的行程，從中見識了大型企業的運作模式，那裡以先進的科技及機器，有效處理繁複的生產程序使我十分驚訝！

總括來說，我學習了很多有關國家古今的知識，這亦給我一份親切的感覺。最後，透過是次行程，我增進了不少時事觸覺及提升了獨立思考能力！

北京，是我一直很渴望去的地方。不是因為風景優美，也不是因為那裏的熱鬧。而是‥‥‥試問一國豈能無首呢?若果要了解一個國家，必先從首都開始慢慢認識‥‥‥為期四天的北京之旅，最終在歡樂的氣氛下悄悄地結束。今個復活節假期，不再是一個墨守成規、不用上課的日子，而是一個令我難以忘懷的假期。

正所謂「讀萬卷書不如行萬里路」，不妨出去走走，暫時拋下學業的煩惱，好好舒緩一下，甚至令自已增加見識。這樣的經驗比起書本所學的受用得多。

第一天，我們主要參觀了奧林匹克公園內兩個因2008年北京奧運而興建的體育場館：鳥巢和水立方。雖然當天並沒有往內部參觀，只能在外面觀賞，可是已足以令人嘆為觀止！在電視上感覺不到建築物的宏偉，可是當自己親臨此地，感覺實在太不一樣了。

古語有云：「不登長城非好漢」，而第二天的行程正是登上長城！我一直低估了長城雄偉的氣勢，當我到達後，真的不能不對古時的人感到敬佩。因為我沒想到，他們憑藉以前有限的建築技巧，竟可造出一條氣勢磅礡的「龍」！除此之外，我們亦參觀了匯源飲料廠。那所飲料廠的規模，相等於香港的「果汁先生」公司，而是次的參觀，不但是「觀」那麼簡單，而是了解。了解的不只是匯源飲料廠的歷史、起源‥‥‥更令我明白到「萬事起頭難」。凡事都無可能在途中暢通無阻，即使我們現在只看到飲料廠風光的一面，但卻忽略了他們開始時花了多少心思，要得到成功，是要靠努力不懈和凡事都有要求的心。

第三天的行程，可算是行程最為緊湊的一天：首先參觀了故宮，然後又去四合院。這些景點都跟電視上播映的宮廷節目相差很遠，現實中的故宮和四合院雖經過少許的翻新工程，可是仍敵不過歲月的磨洗，變得越來越殘舊，但同時亦為這個景點增加了一個十分真實的賣點。接着，又可一嘗乘搭人力車的滋味，途中我和同學都主動跟車夫聊天，而且亦發現他們都頗健談的，為我們的旅程帶來一份滿足感。當天最後一個行程就是去王府井大街，那裏大多售賣各式各樣的街頭小食，並提供賣紀念品的小攤檔，真是令人目不暇給。儘管時間不太夠用，可是同學們都為自己揀選好「心頭好」。而且，那天我亦鼓起勇氣品嚐了蠍子的味道。原本我都十分抗拒，可是眼看同學吃得津津有味，我也禁不住我的好奇心，嚐了第一囗‥‥‥最後讓我發現了蠍子竟沒有想像中的難入囗，相反那味道還真是挺特別的！

最後一天，亦算是令我最印象深刻的一天。當天我們準備去參與天安門升旗典禮，因此要提早起床。當去到天安門時，不少同學仍睡眼惺忪，但當播起中國國歌時，頓時令全埸的人喚醒了似的。之後，我們便到博物館參觀一下，可惜時間實在不足夠，故不能真正投入在其中。但在短短一小時裏，我們都把它好好運用，希望做到在有限的時間內做出無限的可能！老師真的十分體貼，他們知道我們在前一天未有足夠時間買紀念品，所以故為我們增加一個行程：到步行街走走。當時，同學們得悉這個消息後都開心到翻天了！

最後，即使我並沒有買到甚麼特別的紀念品，可是這樣的一次體驗卻比任何事更難得。是次的北京之行是我中學生涯中，首次跟同學衝出香港。即使只是短短數天，但已足以令我們有所成長，增加我們之間的友誼。不僅如此，亦令我對 北京的環境和文化有更多的了解，增加我的見識。整個行程中，最緊張刺激的部分便是乘坐飛機回港的時候。回港時因風雨關係而未能於香港安全着陸，故要把飛機遷往廣州白雲機場着陸，途中雷電交加的情景更是為旅程增加驚險的感覺。幸好，最後終於能安全返港，可是相對預定着陸時間，足足遲了九個小時‥‥‥

總括來說，整個北京之旅都令我樂而忘返。不但令同學們增進了友誼，更令我知道了不少關於北京的資料。若果再有機會參與類似的活動，我一定會毫不猶疑地把握機會參加，因為當機會溜走了，即使做甚麽也是徒然的。期盼，各位同學都跟我一樣，好好把握每個學習的好機會！

有人說：「不到長城非好漢。」在今次的復活節假期裏，我與同學參加了四日三夜的北京之旅，收獲甚豐。北京是我國的首都，今次我終於有機會踏足這片繁華之地，我感到無比興奮。

第一天早上，我們就在香港國際機場集合，乘坐大約三小時的航程，終於抵達了北京。首先，我們參觀了零八年北京奧運的代表建築物——鳥巢和水立方。前者就好像一個巨大的灰色鳥巢，由一枝枝鐵枝築成，縱橫交錯，別有一番景致。後者雖則沒有前者般吸引，但仍有一番味道，淡淡的藍色方格疊積而成，閃閃生輝，吸引了不少途人拍照。

其後，我們參觀了匯源果汁廠，這是全國最大的果汁廠之一，我們從中了解製作果汁的過程，獲益良多。最後兩天，我們去了著名的商業街——王府井大街，品嚐北京的傳統小食，例如酸奶和冰糖葫蘆。北京不同的小食各有風味，令我垂涎三尺。

隨後我們又去了故宮，欣賞中國的歷史建築，了解明清兩朝的文化。那裏人山人海，洋溢着熱鬧的氣氛。我們亦參觀了首都博物館，從而加深對北京城歷史的認識。

經過這次的北京之旅，我對中國文化和歷史加深認識，同時增加了我對國家的歸屬感，實在不可多得，我希望他日能再到北京遊覽。
