On 22 May 2025, our school and Hoi Ping Chamber of Commerce Secondary School co-organized a friendly English debate match. Our school debaters are 3A17 Liu Pak Lun, 4D24 Yang Zixuan and 3D Lam On Sang Anson. Students learned from one another through these friendly matches and exchanged ideas, enhancing their debating skills in the process.
Our Handbell Team has received the Silver Award in the 16th Hong Kong International Handbell Olympics 2025.
On 13th May 2025, as part of our school's 65th anniversary celebrations, we were honoured to welcome back our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Lam Chun Kit, Sammy, owner of the renowned Village Bakery. Mr. Lam delivered an inspiring and heartfelt talk titled “Dreams Within, Passion for Lantau: A Bakery's Journey to Success”, sharing his life journey, career transformation, and entrepreneurial insights.
The event was conducted in a talk show format, with a teacher and two student representatives serving as the MCs and students in the audience actively participating in a lively Q&A session. Adding a special touch, some students were treated to handmade “Palmiers” crafted by Mr. Lam himself, offering a tangible taste of his dedication and skills. Mr. Lam began by reflecting on his days as a student at our school, fondly recalling his favourite extracurricular activities that shaped his character and aspirations.
He then shared his bold decision to leave a stable career in accounting to pursue his passion for baking. Candidly, Mr. Lam talked about the struggles he faced during this transition, including convincing his family of his choice. He also detailed the challenges of starting his bakery, from mastering the crafts of baking to overcoming financial and operational hurdles. With perseverance and unwavering passion, he turned his vision into a thriving business.
The session concluded with Mr. Lam offering practical advice to students about discovering their passions, taking calculated risks, and staying resilient in the face of challenges. His words left a lasting impression on both students and teachers, inspiring all to dream big and pursue their goals with dedication.
The "New Millennium Robotics Challenge Cup 2025," organized by the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE) and the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Education - Lee Wai Lee, was held on May 3, 2025. 本年度公民與社會發展科的内地考察團主題為「英德鄉村振興內地考察」,由校長連同13位老師帶領110位中五學生,於4月24至25日前往英德市,認識鄉村振興的背景和對當地歷史和文化傳承的重要性,以及了解國家新型農村經濟。
考察期間,學生參觀了當地企業「上茗軒」、龍華村和寶晶宮等,並有幸與英德市職業技術學校進行交流。透過企業探訪,學生了解到英德紅茶的歷史,並體驗了親手沖泡奶茶的過程。參觀龍華村和寶晶宮則讓學生認識到鄉村振興的背景,以及可持續發展和生態安全的重要性。與當地學校的交流,使同學能夠了解當地的教育體系和職業發展趨勢,拓寬視野。此外,學生也能夠通過考察所得,結合已有知識,反思個人或香港在國家發展中的機遇和可擔當的角色。
On the beautiful sunny days of 8 and 9 April 2025, the Tai Po Sports Ground was filled with hundreds of energetic athletes and vivacious cheering teams. They enjoyed the 65th Anniversary Athletic Meet after months of training and preparation. Mr Chan Ka Ho, Hong Kong Athletic Team Coach, was the Guest of Honour for this year’s event. The Athletic Meet was the perfect occasion for students to demonstrate true sportsmanship and enjoy the fruits of persistent training. The following is the list of prize winners in the Athletic Meet:
The "Inter-School Table Tennis Competition," organized by The Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China – Tai Po & North District Secondary Schools Area Committee, was held from March 2024 to April 2024 at the Luen Wo Hui Sports Centre. Thirteen student athletes participated in the B and C Grade competitions. Our Boys B Grade team was awarded 5th place, while the Girls C Grade team was awarded the 1st runner-up. The list of awardees is as follows:
“Joint-School Trail Walking,” organized by the TTR Trailwalker Teaching Room Charity Foundation, was held on March 22, 2025. The race started at Lam Tsuen Wishing Square and was divided into a 4-km junior group and a 6-km senior group. Five student athletes participated in the competition, and our athletes achieved good results. The list of the awardees is as follows:
Students 3A Liu Pak Lun and 3A Wong Lok Chi participated in the “I'm a Fine Music DJ Workshops - Off-campus Talk - Into the World of Fine Music DJ” organized by the Music Office, LCSD. They engaged with professional hosts from RTHK Radio 4, gaining insights into broadcasting and exploring both Chinese and Western fine music. This experience allowed them to deepen their understanding of radio, learn about the role of a classical music DJ, and enhance their music appreciation skills through interactive activities.
Recently, our school organized a meaningful Activity Day, offering S5 students a rare opportunity to embark on immersive workplace visits. Through these firsthand experiences, students explored diverse industries, gaining insights into professional knowledge, attitudes, skills, and values across various fields.
Yakult Factory
One group visited the Yakult Factory, where they delved into the company's history and development while observing its modernised production line. Guided by technical experts, students learned about Yakult's rigorous quality control standards and witnessed how sustainability principles are integrated into daily operations. This experience not only deepened their understanding of food safety but also sparked their awareness of environmental stewardship and sustainable development in the food industry.
Scout Association of Hong Kong – The Friends of Scouting
Another group visited the Scouts and Friends Association, a social welfare organisation. Students discovered innovative approaches to mental health advocacy, including the use of smart interactive devices and scenario simulation rooms. Through this visit, they gained a deeper understanding of contemporary mental health challenges and the critical role social workers play in addressing them. The experience highlighted the importance of empathy, adaptability, and lifelong learning for aspiring professionals in this evolving field.
Hands-On Learning at an Auto Repair Center (VTC)
A third group explored the intricacies of automotive maintenance at a local repair center. Under the guidance of skilled technicians, students participated in practical workshops, discovering how advanced technical expertise enhances efficiency and safety. They learned that professional training not only reduces workplace risks but also plays a vital role in safeguarding both personal and public safety.
Sports Therapy Workshop (YWCA): Healing Through Science and Empathy
At a sports therapy centre, students explored the diverse types of therapeutic exercises and observed the daily responsibilities of sports therapists. They recognised that the role extends beyond alleviating physical pain—it requires genuine compassion and a personalized understanding of each patient's needs. Discussions on industry trends further highlighted the growing significance of healthcare, particularly in sports therapy, inspiring many to consider careers in this impactful field.
Behind the Magic: Disney Hotel and Tourism Insights
Finally, a group visited Disney Hotel to uncover the inner workings of hospitality and tourism. Students observed the professionalism of hotel staff and the vibrant performances by theme park entertainers, gaining insights into the symbiotic relationship between theme parks and the tourism industry. They left with a renewed appreciation for how such attractions drive innovation and create opportunities in the ever-evolving travel sector.
Building Foundations for the Future
These workplace visits provided students with invaluable experiences that broadened their horizons. By exploring industries aligned with their interests, they gained practical insights into potential career paths. We firmly believe these experiences will serve as a strong foundation for their future endeavours, igniting their passion for the professional world.

On 14th March, our S4 students and teachers set out on an inspiring tour organised by BestLink Tours. This enriching experience aimed to enhance students' understanding of Hong Kong culture in the 19th century while promoting appreciation for the vibrant heritage and diversity that exist in the city.
In the tour, students explored Man Mo Temple, the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, and concluded at Tai Kwun. These locations painted a vivid picture of life in the 19th century and left a lasting impression on the minds of our students.
Providing exposure to these historically significant sites, we strive to increase students' awareness of Chinese traditional culture, nurture national identity and demonstrate our school's commitment to holistic education. We continue to encourage the younger generation to develop a passion for our shared history and culture.
The S3 Leader-in-future Training Day Camp (Organized by AGE Consulting Group Ltd.), held on 14 March 2025, was an immersive and empowering experience designed to develop and enhance leadership skills among our students.
The training emphasized the significance of collaboration and teamwork in effective leadership, instilling in students the importance of collective effort and shared vision. During the camp, students faced many personal and new challenges. They were encouraged to approach each obstacle with a positive, open, and proactive attitude. After the activities, the coach engaged in discussions and sharing sessions with the students, thereby reinforcing their experiences and memories from the camp.
This comprehensive training program aimed to equip our Secondary 3 students with the necessary skills and mindset to become influential leaders, capable of navigating challenges and inspiring positive change within their communities.
