Learning Strategies

In order to strengthen the communicative ability of students, student will have group discussions and group presentations on selected topics. Teachers will ask students to devise their own experiments and compare with those in the textbooks.

Our teachers encourage students to read and analyse Biology articles in newspaper, magazine, the Interref internet, as a means to sharpen students' critical thinking skills and information technology skills. It is also important to ensure students make academic achievement with their knowledge in the subject. Teaching (pace and content) will be adjusted according to students' ability. Teachers put emphasis on writing skills in doing exercises and laboratory reports.

In order to help students to develop life-long learning skills, reference materials are provided in the Moodle for students to carry out on-line assessments. Teachers also provide learning targets and students prepare before lessons. Students are encouraged to make better use of the school library.

To help students put theories into practices, active learning activities such as attending talks by guest speakers, workshops, company visits, museum visits and field trips are arranged.
