I joined a talk held by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on 5 December 2017 afternoon. I learned about some knowledge about minimum payment, money and so on. It is interesting to know that there are so many banks in Hong Kong.
However, it was a bit boring because most of the events were talks by several professionals. The video shows were more interesting and attractive, messages were transmitted clearly.

On 5th December, we went to Youth Square in Chai Wan to attend a talk held by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). After the talk, I learnt about the key functions of the HKMA, including monetary stability, banking stability, exchange fund and maintain Hong Kong as an international financial centre. Moreover, we learnt about how Hong Kong is benefit under the Linked Exchange Rate System which was established in 1983. By linking with US dollar, it can maintain a stable exchange rate between Hong Kong dollar and US dollar. I think the talk was meaningful and I learnt a lot outside the textbook. I hope there will be similar talks in the future so I can learn more economic knowledge outside the textbook.
