Annual Fashion Show 2022-2023

The 2022-2023 Annual Fashion Show was successfully held on 12th July 2023. There were 7 teams around 50 students who participated in the competition. The theme was K-pop Culture which has swept Hong Kong in recent years. The creativity and skill on display in this fashion show is truly impressive!

Tote bag making in S3

Students learn how to use sewing machine during lessons. They devote much effort to making and decorating their own tote bags. The followings are some of their products.

Mother’s Day Cookies Making Class

Due to the pandemic, most of the ECA have been cancelled. On 6th May, however, the HE club managed to fit in one activity to celebrate Mother’s Day with our schoolmates. Cookies were made and packed by the HE Club Committee members, and they were delivered to the S1 students by the Angels. The rest of the cookies were shared amount our schoolmates.

S3 Project

n response to the school annual plan to help the students cultivate their self-learning skills, S3 students were formed into groups to produce a project about Italian culture including food and music. Through this project, they have learn about the origins, characteristics and the meal patterns of the Italian cuisine. They have chosen appropriate recipes for a 3-course meal and cooked the dishes during their cookery lessons. A survey using google forms was conducted to check the knowledge and popularity of Italian cuisine among their friends and relatives. A music piece was chosen from either their music lessons or from youtube channels.

S2 Project

In response to the school annual plan to help the students cultivate their self-learning skills, S2 students were formed into groups to work on a project doing a comparison between self-made cookies (using three different cookie making methods) and store bought cookies. In addition, they had to create a cookie cutter in their DT lessons. They used the cutters in the cookie making lessons. They successfully conducted a comparison between commercial cookie cutters and the ones they made from their DT lessons. A comparison table with various criteria was included in their project in addition to their production of the cookies and cookie cutters.

S1 Project

In response to the school annual plan to help the students to cultivate their self-learning skills, S1 students were encouraged to learn to be more independent in their daily lives. They were grouped into pairs to cook themselves a healthy one- course meal within certain criteria such as a time limit allowance, nutritional requirements and use of various ingredients. Dishes included: Fried Japanese Udon, Mini Pizza, Terriyaki Chicken Wings and Western Fried Rice.

Annual Fashion Show 2015-2016

The 2015-2016 Annual Fashion Show was successfully held on 6th July 2016. There were 11 teams around 100 students and 4 teachers who participated in the competition. The theme for the fashion show was Fairy Tales in Modern life. Participants did a great job in creating daily clothing according to the characters of various fairy tales. The most popular character seems to be Alice in Wonderland.

Inter-house Student-teacher Cooking Competition

The inter-house cooking competition was held on 21st of April. The topic was Dessert Sin Sugar. There were six teams of participants. All the team cooked some fabulous and delicious dessert without using sugar as the sweetener.

Master Chef for Boys I

Our master chef Leo Chan organized a Lava Cake making class with the support of the Home Economics Club. There were 8 boys who participated in this cake and had learnt a lot about using of oven, baking a lava cake and use the right utensils for making cakes. They had great fun and and brought the cakes home to share with friends and family.

Christmas Gingerbread Making Class

In order to celebrate Christmas, the Home Economics Club held a Ginger Bread making class for our schoolmates. We had great fun in creating the shapes and varies the different flavor and texture of the gingerbread. Schoolmates enjoyed making some gingerbread and decorated all by themselves. They brought home to share with their family members afterwards.

Gnochi Making Class

Master Chefs for Boys Classes held since 2013. There were 5 classes during 2014-2015. Chan Leong has done a great job in demonstration his enthusiasm and skills in Cooking. There were ten boys in the Gnocchi making class.

Annual Fashion Show 2014-2015

The 2014-2015 Annual Fashion Show was successfully held on 7th July 2015. There were 9 teams around 80 students who participated in the competition. The theme for the fashion show was Environmental Glamour. Participants did a great job in creating some glamorous costumes using environmental friendly material or reuse of the materials from their useless articles or items.

Annual Fashion Show 2012-2013

The Annual Fashion Show was held successfully on 4th July, 2013. The theme was 'East Meets West', which meant fusing the different styles of fashion with some eastern and western elements with students' own ideas. There were 7 teams who joined the Fashion Show. They all showed their great creativity and sense of fashion. Two teachers and two students won 'The Most Outstanding Models' prizes; they were Mr. Cheng, Miss Yuen, 6C Chan Kin Yu and 6A Lau Wai Lam. All of us enjoyed it very much and are looking forward to the next one.

Teacher-Student Cooking Competition

The Teacher-Student Cooking Competition was held on 20th April, 2013. The theme was 'Low carbon emission cooking style'. A total of 8 teams joined the competition. The participants had to fit the low carbon emission cooking style by using the local ingredients. Teachers and students shared the joyful moment together and they had a good co-operation during cooking.

Tiramisu Making Class

The Tiramisu Making Class was held on 30th April, 2013. There were 20 students who joined the class. All of them had a great time while making this tasty dessert. They brought them home and shared the sweetness of the Tiramisu with their loved ones.

The Cupcakes Making Class

The cupcakes making class was held on the 11th, Oct, 2012. It was very welcomed by our schoolmates. Every participant made 4 cupcakes and decorated their own cakes using different coloured frostings. We all had a fruitful and fun afternoon.

The Annual Fashion Show 2011-2012

The Annual Fashion show was held on the 5th July 2012. The main theme was East meets West. Eight teams joining the competition. One of the teams was a group of the S7 students who graduated this year. As they had done a great job in their design of the clothes as well as their catwalk presentation, they were awarded first place in the competition. Not only were the students were involved, but also three teachers joined the cat walk as well. The competition ended with applause and cheers of enjoyment.

Molten Lava Cake Cooking Class

The main theme of this year for the HE club is Cooking for Love. This Molten Lava Cake Cooking Class is for the students to celebrate the Valentine's Day with their families. There were 20 participants and every one of them had successfully baked four cakes and brought home to share with their family members happily.

Teacher-Student Cooking Competition

This is one of the most welcomed activities of the HE Club every year. There were ten groups of participants this year. The teachers and students cooperated well with each other in the competition. They were all able to finish their dishes on time. Some of the dishes were outstanding and of high quality.

Easter Pistachio Cookies Making Class

The cookie making class was also a very popular extra curricula activity this year. There were 22 students who participated in the activity. The waiting list was very long and some of the students were disappointed. The students enjoyed the processes of making the cookies very much. They were all very satisfied with the cookies that they made. We had an enjoyable and fruitful afternoon.

The class filled up with participants very quickly when the announcement was made. There were 20 participants with four committee members on duty. Students had to make a plain sponge cake. Some of them were given a plain sponge cake because of the shortage of time. They had to design and decorate their own cakes with the ingredients provided. They enjoyed the activity very much and were very happy that they could share their cakes with their mothers.
