Through the "Joyful Thousand-Mile Reading Cruise" 2025 Summer Pilot Reading Award Scheme, I was motivated to explore various types of books, including Chinese and English essays, novels, plays, and encyclopedias. Every time I finished a book, I felt a sense of accomplishment and gained new perspectives that stimulated my thinking. This initiative not only broadened my extracurricular knowledge and reading volume but also sustained my interest in reading. It allowed me to expand my horizons, experience different cultures, and deepen my understanding of the world. Moreover, through reading, I fully realized how books enhance writing and comprehension skills—such as absorbing vocabulary and grammar—enabling me to express myself more fluently in writing. Beyond the joy of receiving this award, I now truly appreciate the endless benefits of reading.

It is with great honor that I received the 'Joyful Thousand-Mile Reading Cruise' 2025 Summer Pilot Reading Award. As an avid reader simply pursuing my passion for books, this recognition came as a most welcome surprise. While the award criteria are accessible, the true challenge lies in sustaining one's reading motivation. I would recommend thematic book series as they provide both reading pleasure and systematic progress. This accolade not only affirms my reading habits but also inspires me to continue exploring the world of literature.

This school year, we were exceptionally honoured to have become one of the champion teams in the Hong Kong Secondary School Debating Competition (HKSSDC) 2024-2025. Our team came up against formidable opponents in the six rounds against other secondary schools. I am deeply gratified to our talented debaters: 1D Kong Shing Chun Ewan, 5D Peony Ho, 4A Claudia So, 4A Kitty Li, and 5A Yoyo Tam—as well as our teacher in charge, Ms. Ng, and our devoted coach, Summi. It was their dedication and hard work that led us to our resounding victory, and culminated in these triumphant achievements.
Frankly, the journey towards our success was quite arduous. We dedicated ourselves to both after-school training and online meetings, persistently refining our capabilities. My teammates didn't work alone but functioned as a cohesive team, supporting one another and sharing insights whenever challenges arose. Throughout this process, we have learnt the immense value of teamwork, where collaborating closely with others taught me how diverse perspectives can lead to stronger solutions. This notable accomplishment would not have been possible if it weren't for my teammates' commitment.
Considering that this is my 2nd year in the English Debate team, I am immensely grateful to have encountered such talented and skillful teammates by my side, and I'm proud of how much I have grown throughout this debating journey. Once again, I would like to extend my utmost gratitude to Ms Ng, Summi and my outstanding teammates throughout this competition, and I will forever cherish the opportunity that was given to me.

On the important day of the release of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) results, our school was honoured to welcome Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education, for a visit.
Exchange at the School History Gallery: Students Share Their Journey of Dream-Chasing
Dr. Choi first met with the Supervisor, IMC Managers, and three outstanding Form 6 students excelling in academics, sports, and arts at the School History Gallery. The students enthusiastically shared their experiences of pursuing their dreams during their journeys of learning and growth. Whether it was overcoming academic challenges or achieving breakthroughs in extracurricular activities, the combination of the school's support and their perseverance brought them closer to their aspirations. Dr. Choi praised their efforts, encouraging them to enjoy the process, do their best, and take something valuable from every competition.
Observing at the Gymnasium: Witnessing Athletes in Action
Dr. Choi then proceeded to the indoor gymnasium to watch demonstrations by the school's judo and fencing teams. After that, she had a warm conversation with the team members, learning about their training routines and competition experiences. She also commended the teams for their remarkable achievements in territory-wide competitions. Dr. Choi highlighted how the school's diverse sports activities and systematic training programmes help enhance students' confidence and teamwork skills.
Encouragement at the Hall: Life's Race Track is Full of Infinite Possibilities
Addressing all Form 6 students in the school hall, Dr. Choi shared her views and experiences regarding public examinations. She encouraged students to view the DSE as a "checkpoint" in life—an opportunity to reflect on themselves and adjust their strategies. Dr. Choi remarked, "The road ahead may be long, but it is full of infinite possibilities and is truly exciting." She reminded students to appreciate the beauty around them while pursuing their goals and always be grateful for the support of their families, teachers, and friends. Her heartfelt words deeply resonated with everyone present.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
"I believe that the growth you've gained here is far more than just a report card—it's a wealth of other invaluable experiences." — Dr. Choi
We sincerely thank Dr. Choi for visiting our school. Her genuine encouragement and advice to the younger generation, as well as her recognition for the efforts of our students and teachers, have left a profound impact. As students pass through the DSE "checkpoint," we hope they carry the growth and achievements of the past six years to create even more extraordinary experiences on their life journeys .
